Abandon Ship! The NT Ning is Going Down!

Dear Members of the New Toulouse Ning,

I believe that today, Wednesday, June 30 will be the last day that we have access to our Ning.  The new pricing structure starts tomorrow, and we are not continuing with Ning.

Please archive anything that you want to save from the Ning TODAY!  I am working on archiving "historic" photos.  I have defined historic photos as the 100 or so photos that were already in the Ning when I took over New Toulouse at the end of January 2009.  If you have added photos in the last 18 months please archive them yourself!

We do have a new repository for photos, in Koinup at .  I am archiving the Ning photos to and I will move them into the New Toulouse Group after I have them all uploaded.

As of right now, we do not have a replacement for the Ning, however I am working on a solution.  Please use the New Toulouse Google calendar at to…

New Toulouse Joins New Babbage Relay for Life

I am pleased to announce that the community of New Toulouse has joined with the New Babbage Team for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Second Life.

The residents of New Toulouse wanted to contribute to the SL RFL effort this year, but we are not in position to field our own team for 2010.  The New Babbage RFL Team leadership kindly and graciously accepted our offer to assist Team NB, which basically consists of the placement of Team NB RFL kiosks around New Toulouse, and perhaps and event or two in New Toulouse to raise funds for the team.

I have also pledged my own personal support, funds and resources to RFL Team New Babbage.  If there is anything that I can do to assist any event for New Babbage RFL, do not hesitate to let me know!  I have donated innumerable hours and lindens to SL RFL over the past 4 years on a variety of events and projects, and this year I would like my own personal efforts to go to the community of New Babbage, you wacky, brilliant and riotously fu…

Radio Riel's 3rd Anniversary and Radio Riel Reverie!

Three years ago, on June 1, 2007, Edward Pearse, Mitsu Figaro, Red Caliber and Gabrielle Riel launched Radio Riel, an internet radio station based in the virtual world of Second Life.  Radio Riel's goal was to provide historically appropriate music at events in the 19th Century, Victorian, Steampunk, Second Life community, The Independent State of Caledon.

Radio Riel was initially a single audio stream that we used for live events and to play Victorian music daily from 4:00pm - 8:00pm SLT.  That Fall, the additions of Diamanda Gustafson and Elrik Merlin took us to a new level of providing music 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Soon afterward, Otenth Paderborn and Soliel Snook joined the team.

In 2007 and 2008, Radio Riel established itself as the premier source for historically appropriate and specialty music on the Second Life grid.  Our Presenters knew how to provide the perfect soundtrack for any event, from a Medieval bonfire to a Baroque masked ball to a 19…
