The Peacock Prom

Post written by Mr. Rudolpho Woodget

Did you miss your Prom? Or did you go with the wrong person? This Saturday, you can right that wrong at The Peacock Prom, to be offered at The Bashful Peacock, Caledon Wellsian, on Saturday, May 17. For the convenience of our global community, the prom will be held twice: from 10 am to 1 pm and again from 7 pm to 10 pm (all times SLT).

The lawn will be ornamented in keeping with the theme of "May Flowers," selected by Prom Chair, Mr. Jayleden Miles. Guests are encouraged to bedeck themselves honouring the beauty of a Caledon spring.

This SLURL <http://slurl.com/secondlife/Caledon%20Wellsian/213/210/23> will take you to the Caledon Wellsian telehub, whence you can follow the red beacon over the mountain to the northeast corner. The Trans-Caledon Railway also stops just outside The Bashful Peacock.

What North Americans call the "prom," a formal dance marking the end of the school year, has its origins in the Promenade dance…

Caledonia

Happy First Rezday to Lady Soliel Snook :-)

"Caledonia"

I don't know if you can see
The changes that have come over me
In these last few days I've been afraid
That I might drift away
I've been telling old stories, singing songs
That make me think about where I've come from
That's the reason why I seem
So far away today

[Chorus:]
Let me tell you that I love you
That I think about you all the time
Caledonia, you're calling me, now I'm going home
But if I should become a stranger
Know that it would make me more than sad
Caledonia's been everything I've ever had

Now I have moved and I've kept on moving
Proved the points that I needed proving
Lost the friends that I needed losing
Found others on the way
I have kissed the fellas and left them crying
Stolen dreams, yes, there's no denying
I have traveled hard, sometimes with conscience flying
Somewhere with the wind

[Chorus]

Now I'm sitting here before the fire
The empty room, the forest choir
The flames have c…

Hang On Little Tomatoes!

Hang On Little Tomato by Pink Martini

The sun has left and forgotten me
It's dark, I cannot see
Why does this rain pour down
I'm gonna drown
In a sea
Of deep confusion

Somebody told me, I don't know who
Whenever you are sad and blue
And you're feelin' all alone and left behind
Just take a look inside and you will find

You gotta hold on, hold on through the night
Hang on, things will be all right
Even when it's dark
And not a bit of sparkling
Sing-song sunshine from above
Spreading rays of sunny love

Just hang on, hang on to the vine
Stay on, soon you'll be divine
If you start to cry, look up to the sky
Something's coming up ahead
To turn your tears to dew instead

And so I hold on to his advice
When change is hard and not so nice
You listen to your heart the whole night through
Your sunny someday will come one day soon to you
